If you’d like a quick introduction to medical marijuana, our friends at Surterra have made the helpful video below.

Q: How do I get a FL state Medical Marijuana Card?

A: Simple, please have:

  1. FL state ID
  2. Active email address
  3. $75 for the state license fee
  4. Documentation of your condition

Q: OK, I have all that, what’s next?

A: Bring in PHYSICAL copies of documentation of your condition and we will see you for FREE!

Q: What if I don’t have documentation?

A: That’s OK! Our 1st appointment fee is only $100 and still very affordable!

Q: Okay I’ve had an appointment, what’s next?

A: In your appointment, you provided an email to us. The Medical Marijuana Use Registry will send you a temporary password through your email to sign you in.

Q: I didn’t receive an email, what do I do?

A: Please go to the Medical Marijuana Use website (mmuregistry.flhealth.gov) and click “Forgot Password” on the login page. Enter in your email address and click “Submit.” If the website says email not found- contact us! Otherwise, please check your email for the temporary password.

Q: I received the email and signed in, what’s next?

A: After you have changed your password as per the websites rules, then you will go to the “Your Card” tab. There, you will:

  1. Upload a picture of your ID
  2. Sign your application
  3. Pay the $75 state fee (+$2.75 for credit card processing)

Q: I’ve finished the registration process, can I go to the dispensary yet?

A: Not Yet! Now the State of Florida will put your profile through the approvation process which takes anywhere from 2-4 weeks.

Q: I received an email from the Medical Marijuana Use Registry! Can I go to the dispensary NOW?

A: Not yet! Please contact our facility by phone or email to let us know that you’ve received said email, we will enter in your first FREE order or the orders you previously paid for!

Q: I thought the doctor said I wouldn’t have to see him for the next 7.5 months, why do I need to purchase an order?

A: That is correct, the State of Florida only requires the patient be seen by the Doctor every 7.5 months. BUT, the State of Florida also requires that the Doctor issues orders for the patient to be able to purchase product from the dispensary.

In order for us to be as affordable as possible and in order for YOU not to spend more money than required, we allow the luxury of allowing our patients to purchase their orders on our website or at our Marijuana Help Desk inside of our facility.

Q: Okay, now what exactly comes in an order?

A: Great question! At our facility, we understand that there is no scientific evidence behind the dosing of a patient. When we issue any order, we issue it for the MAX amount of days (70) and for the MAX amount of milligrams. The maximum amounts allow you to always have an order and always have milligrams to purchase products at any time.

Q: I get MAXIMUM milligrams???

A: Yes, there is no scientific evidence regarding specific dose, but we recommend every patient to explore their dose. START LOW AND SLOW!

Q: My order expired! Do I need to come in to see the doctor?

A: As long as you have seen Doctor Pulido in the last seven months, you should* be able to just purchase an additional order on our website

*If you have not been seen under the new policy (effective April 1st), please call us.

Q: My card is expiring soon! What do I do?

A: 45 days before the expiration of your card, access to renewing your card opens up on your account.
See our above FAQ’s to see how to log in. Once you’ve logged in successfully, go to the “your card” tab and upload a picture of your ID, pay the $75 licensing fee, and sign your name at the bottom!

Q: I don’t know how to renew my card by myself!

A: That’s okay! We offer a $20 appointment fee to allow ease of access, if you are having trouble with renewing your card yourself, come in and our staff will do it for you!

Q: Am I allowed to get medical marijuana and own a gun in Florida?

This can get complicated but to sum it up: If you are a medical marijuana patient and try to buy a gun at a dealer, you will have to fill out a Firearms Transaction Record and question 11e on that form asks if you are currently an unlawful user of controlled substances with a warning that even state-legal medical marijuana is illegal under federal law and counts in this instance. When this question is marked yes, the application is automatically denied. So you will be unable to purchase a gun from a dealer. The medical marijuana law itself does not mention guns at all. Guns you already own & medical marijuana are not addressed anywhere. Getting a concealed weapons permit & medical marijuana is not addressed anywhere. Buying ammunition & medical marijuana is not addressed anywhere. You can still purchase guns in a private sale as there is no Firearm Transaction Record form. As far as we can tell, to legally buy a new gun from a dealer a current medical marijuana patient would need to let their card expire, buy the gun, and then renew their card. Please note this is not proper legal advice and you should consult with a lawyer if you have further questions.
